God’s Thoughts to Me

When we were at Mount Sinai, the Lord our God said to us,”You have stayed at this mountain long enough” (Deuteronomy 1:6, NLT).

You have been wandering around in this hill country long enough, turn to the north ( Deuteronomy 2:3, NLT).

Enough is Enough

A Pocket full of Posies
Ashes! Ashes!
We all fall down.

And then we get up from the ashes and go around the mountain …

again … again … and again!

Around Moses’ Mount Sinai where we were lost in our shattered dreams of promises to keep your law! Moving on …

To Mount Seir of the Edomites … the hill country where we, like Esau impatiently sell our birthright for a pot of lentil soup …

Again … again and again …

Until we hear your voice calling us forward …

To the next mountain …

Where we go around …

Again and again and again …!

Dying of our Pockets full of useless Posies …

The Roses of the Black Death …

Looking at the clouds from both sides now, I realise that it is all just a cloud-illusion, blocking out the Rays of the Son …

And I sigh …

When will we ever learn … ?

Much love xx

I live in a small seaside town on the south-east coast of South Africa. I suffer from fybromyalgia/constant fatigue syndrome. I trust in the Lord Jesus for grace and strength to survive from day to day. He provides me with this and more and I therefore like to try and encourage others with the same illness. I am married and I am the proud mother of two grown sons.

  1. Hello Mia! You live in south-east South Africa – wow! How cool that we can participate in a community of people all who live all around the world!
I love how you brought in stories of the Old Testament people, and tied in a kid’s song. That song, and the lives of the Israelites and Edomites appy to us today! It is such a good reminder! Thank you!

    1. Hi Sara
Welcome to my blog, dear one! Thank you for visiting and it is really great how the web allows us to have a worldwide community! We truly can learn from the people from the Old Testament, but I seem to be a slow learner!!!
      Much love

      1. Hi Mia!
How long have you lived in south-eastern South Africa? What do you do there? I am a case manager at a private subsidized housing complex. I love it!

    1. Hi Brandee
I was so excited when I read your response for you were the only one who knew what I was trying to say! The futility of always trying our own way around our own mountains to reach our Pappa God! Only He leads us on from the one thing to the next for our own efforts only leads to death! But like always … He is the answer!
      Much love

    1. Hi dear Dolly
Of course we will, for just as we will pick up our children when they fall, so much more our Pappa in heaven!
